Farm may be pushing it

Ok, so it may not truly qualify as a farm. Yet.  It's a 1/2 acre lot in the middle of town. It's more like my attempt to create a version of my dream with the current living situation I have.  Urban homestead, hobby farm, garden, miniature zoo. Whatever you want to call it, its my dream or as close to it as I can possibly do right now.

We're transforming a big part of our back yard into garden. We have bunnies, chickens, dogs and cats. The transformation is going slower than I'd hoped. The weather has not cooperated much at all this spring. Rain and snow have decided to show up on the weekends my husband has off from work.  I also know (ok, he keeps reminding me) not to bite off more than I can chew either.

I want to grow as much of our own food as possible, preserving what we don't eat so that we have homegrown food year round. The chickens are for eggs, not meat. We have about another month or so until they'll begin to lay.

So maybe it is a farm or maybe it isn't. Maybe if you tilt your head to the side and squint your eyes, its a farm.
